I'm now offering beginning, intermediate, & some advanced guitar, bass, & pop vocal lessons!!!

My age limit to start stringed instruments is 10 yrs. old (any earlier and the kids can't even push the strings down)

Vocal lessons will be the same... If you're a vocalist with your own songs and you want to arrange your music or have me write your backing music, I can collaborate with you on your material and help you through the whole writing/recording/production/copyright process...

I am also willing to give studio techniques lessons (mic positioning, board routing and setting up your own digital studio) @ my digital studio: Spiked Music & Productions (listen to some recent recordings I've done on the Demos page) recording time can also be booked if you just want to record your own songs...

Here are some things to take into account when deciding to sign up or not:

1. My main focus in music is to rock out and have fun (if there's no fun, then we might as well not even play, right?) 2. My main genre is Pop/rock... I can teach Alternative, Blues, Country and or other styles of music, but Pop & Rock music are MY favorites... 3. We need to learn how to read music AND how to listen to music... Bring in the stuff YOU want to learn and I'll show you how to LEARN it, with a mixture of sheet music & your ear... If you want to work on your own songs (as far as putting music to them and arranging them) that is also available... 4. Be ready to play in front of people, I will be setting up shows for students to perform with me in front of all their friends and family... My goal is to have you ready to play with others and for others when you finish with my teaching...

Some info on me:

I've grown up playing music, it's my passion in life... I started playing piano when I was 8 yrs. old and studied  for 5 yrs... During which I took up bass lessons for 2 yrs. and started playing in my parents gospel quartet for a couple yrs... Once I reached my teenage yrs. I decided I wanted to be cool and play the guitar to back up my singing... I picked it up and learned that by ear for a while and started to write songs and compose REAL music! I took some lessons from local legend Joe Hart, who now plays and teaches professionally in Indianapolis and he showed me how to play lead guitar and that's when I started to love to rock! I practiced and practiced, and then practiced some more... Played and sang in some garage bands, sang in swing choir, played in the stage band and did some musicals in high school and loved every minute of it... Graduated, should've went on and played in college but I didn't have a real direction at that point in my life... So I played and sang anywhere I could, a band called Vibe, Dr. Bones and The Skeletones, Life Sentence and solo acoustic shows any other time, learned how to preserve my voice and make it last for 4 hrs. a night, 2&3 nights a week, cut a CD/ Tony Kendrick, Perfect Picture and  made some money doing what I love... Started a family, started a studio (Spiked Music & Productions) put out another CD/ Telly Speicher, Stand Up, and currently play regionally in Deuce Acoustic Duo in Southern MI, and Northeast IN... I've just finished up my next full- length CD and will be releasing it shortly... I have considerable knowledge learned at "The School of Hard Knocks" which is based upon "Real Life"... I love to show and tell anyone what I know (ask my wife if you don't believe me, she hears it all!) and would love to see some solid musicians coming out of this area... Which is something my old teacher told me he wanted a  long time ago, it actually stuck Joe!...
